Manchester United could be preparing to enter another major Premier League transfer battle, with Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh reportedly emerging as a player on the club’s radar ahead of the January window. 👀🔴
The 22-year-old Gambian winger has attracted serious attention after an impressive spell at Brighton, and the Seagulls are reportedly demanding around £80 million for his services. 💷💥
United’s interest is understood to be at an early stage, but with the January transfer window approaching, Minteh’s name could become one to watch closely around Old Trafford. 🚨
⚡ WHY MINTEH IS ATTRACTING BIG CLUB INTEREST
Minteh is an explosive wide attacker known for his pace, direct running and willingness to take defenders on. During his first season at Brighton, he produced seven goals and five assists in 37 appearances, showing why clubs have been monitoring his development.
Brighton have already demonstrated just how highly they value him. Liverpool reportedly submitted bids of £50m and £60m during the summer, but both proposals were rejected, with Brighton eventually placing an £80m valuation on the winger.
And now United could potentially enter the picture. 👀🔥
🔴 UNITED COULD FACE LIVERPOOL AGAIN
The potential twist is that Manchester United may not be alone in the race.
Liverpool remain strongly linked with Minteh after their failed summer pursuit, and reports suggest the Reds could revisit the situation if the winger returns from injury and impresses after his comeback.
A Gambian football expert also told Sport Witness that Minteh remains keen on a move to Liverpool, adding another layer to what could become a fascinating Premier League transfer battle.
So, if United genuinely decide to push for the winger, we could potentially see Manchester United vs Liverpool for Minteh. 😳🔥
💰 £80M FOR A 22-YEAR-OLD?
That is the massive question.
Brighton’s £80m valuation would represent a huge investment, particularly because Minteh has been dealing with a foot injury and has yet to feature for Brighton this season. Reports have indicated that his comeback could come later in the autumn.
But if Minteh returns firing and quickly reminds everyone why Brighton rejected Liverpool’s huge offers, his price tag could become even more difficult for interested clubs to negotiate down. 💣
For United, adding another explosive attacker could provide more speed, directness and one-on-one threat in the final third.
January could be getting VERY interesting at Old Trafford. 👀🔴🔥
