Robert Lewandowski continues to prove that his name belongs among the greatest strikers football has ever produced.
For years, the Polish superstar has been scoring at an outrageous level, collecting trophies and breaking records while somehow still not receiving the level of recognition his career deserves.
His numbers tell the story:
1,054 games
728 goals
199 assists
33 trophies
2x European Golden Shoe
2x The Best FIFA Men’s Player
UEFA Best Player
And then came another ridiculous performance for Poland.
POLAND 6-0 ROMANIA
Lewandowski completely took over the game, scoring a sensational hat-trick as Poland cruised to a huge victory. His goals came in the 24th, 47th and 86th minutes, giving him another unforgettable night in a Poland shirt.
But it wasn’t just about the goals.
Lewandowski vs Romania:
3 goals
1 penalty won
3 tackles
2 recoveries
8 ground duels won
1/1 aerial duel won
4 fouls won
10.0 match rating
That is a complete striker’s performance. He wasn’t simply waiting inside the box for chances. He was battling defenders, winning duels, recovering possession and creating problems all over the attacking third.
At 38, Lewandowski is still showing the instincts that made him one of Europe’s most feared goalscorers. UEFA has highlighted his extraordinary longevity, including becoming only the third player to reach 100 Champions League goals.
And his international legacy is just as impressive. Lewandowski remains Poland’s all-time leading scorer and most-capped player, with his goalscoring record standing far above the next player in the country’s history.
Against Romania, he simply reminded everyone once again:
The goals haven’t stopped.
The hunger hasn’t disappeared.
The killer instinct is still there.
