Florian Wirtz’s start to life at Liverpool has already sparked plenty of debate, and the contrast between his club and international performances is becoming impossible to ignore. 🔴👀
The German attacking midfielder has featured in six games for Liverpool without finding the back of the net, a statistic that has surprised many supporters given the huge expectations surrounding him. Wirtz arrived at Anfield as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, with Liverpool expecting his creativity, goals and ability to unlock stubborn defences to make a major difference. ⚽
However, while the goals have not yet arrived consistently in a Liverpool shirt, Wirtz has shown a completely different level of efficiency when representing Germany. 🇩🇪✨
In just two games for the national team, he has already scored once, once again reminding everyone why he has been regarded as one of Germany’s biggest attacking talents.
The comparison has naturally raised questions among Liverpool supporters. Is Wirtz struggling to adapt to Liverpool’s system? Is he being used differently? Or is it simply a matter of time before the goals begin flowing at Anfield? 🤔
There is still plenty of reason for optimism. Wirtz is adapting to a new league, new teammates and a different tactical environment, and Liverpool’s attacking structure requires players to develop an understanding with those around them. His technical ability and creativity have never been in serious doubt.
What Liverpool fans will want now is for those flashes of brilliance to translate into goals and decisive performances. 🔥
The German star has already demonstrated that he can produce on the international stage. Now the challenge is to bring that same confidence, composure and attacking threat back to Merseyside.
If Wirtz finds his rhythm, Liverpool could have a frightening attacking weapon on their hands. 👀🔴
Six Liverpool games. Zero goals. Two Germany games. One goal.
The numbers have certainly started the conversation. 😳⚽🔥
