What a moment for Cornelia Kapocs! 🇭🇺✨ The Liverpool Women star stepped up when it mattered most, putting the icing on a memorable Merseyside derby victory against Everton at Anfield. 👏🔥
Liverpool were already in front thanks to Beata Olsson’s early header, but Everton refused to completely disappear from the contest. The Reds kept pushing, creating chances and controlling large spells of the game. 💪🔴
Then came the moment everyone inside Anfield had been waiting for… 😮💨
⏱️ 86th minute.
Alice Bergström’s low cross caused chaos inside the Everton box, and Kapocs reacted brilliantly to the loose ball. She kept her composure, turned and fired into the bottom corner to make it Liverpool 2-0 Everton! 🚨🔥
GOOOAAALLLL! 🗣️🔥🔥
It was more than just another goal. Kapocs’ strike sealed Liverpool’s first-ever WSL victory over Everton at Anfield, ending a painful derby hoodoo and sending the Reds supporters into celebration. 🏆🔴
Kapocs had already threatened earlier in the match, including an effort that was cleared off the line, so her persistence finally paid off in the closing stages. 👀⚡️
The numbers told the story too: Liverpool dominated possession, created the better chances and ultimately deserved their 2-0 victory. 📊💯
Anfield was red. The derby belonged to Liverpool. And Cornelia Kapocs made sure there was a perfect finish. ❤️🔥
