João Cancelo is giving Barcelona fans another reason to smile, and this time it is his goalscoring form that has everyone talking! 🔵🔴🔥
The Portuguese full-back has already made a huge impact since returning to Barça permanently this summer, and his attacking quality has been impossible to ignore. Barcelona officially brought Cancelo back on a deal running until June 2029, giving him another opportunity to make his mark at Camp Nou.
And the 32-year-old wasted little time reminding everyone exactly what he can do. 😮💨💥
Cancelo produced a stunning long-range strike against Racing Santander in September, curling a powerful effort into the net after just eight minutes. The goal was so impressive that LaLiga named it the Best Goal of September. 🥶🎯
Even more interesting? His attacking numbers have sparked comparisons with one of Real Madrid’s biggest stars, Vinícius Jr. 👀
🇵🇹 João Cancelo: 3 goals
🇧🇷 Vinícius Jr.: 2 goals
Yes, you read that correctly! 😭🔥
A Barcelona full-back is currently being talked about for his goalscoring output alongside a superstar attacker who is expected to terrorise defences every week.
Cancelo’s value, however, goes far beyond scoring goals. He can operate on either flank, push high into attacking positions and contribute to Barcelona’s build-up play. Even Hansi Flick has previously praised what the Portuguese can offer the team going forward, describing his attacking contribution as extraordinary.
And there is another spicy detail: Cancelo has already shown that he can produce spectacular moments for Barça. His September strike against Racing was his second LaLiga Goal of the Month award, having also won the prize in September 2023 for his brilliant goal against Real Betis. 🤯🔥
Meanwhile, Vinícius remains one of Madrid’s most dangerous attacking weapons and has been contributing with both goals and assists this season. So this comparison is more of a fun snapshot of the early campaign than a suggestion that Cancelo has suddenly become a better attacker than Vini. 😅
But football is football… and Barça fans are absolutely allowed to enjoy this one! 😂💙❤️
A FULL-BACK OUTSCORING VINÍCIUS JR? CANCELO SAID HOLD MY SHIN PADS! 😭🔥
