João Cancelo’s love for FC Barcelona has gone far beyond words! 😳❤️🔥
The Portuguese full-back reportedly gave up a huge chunk of his salary to make his dream return to Barça happen this summer. While the exact 40% figure is not officially confirmed, Cancelo himself admitted that he made a significant financial sacrifice because Barcelona was the only destination he wanted. 💰➡️💙❤️
And this wasn’t just another transfer for Cancelo. After spending time on loan at Barcelona in 2023/24 and returning again during the second half of the 2025/26 season, the defender was determined to make his third spell permanent. 🔥
At one point, Cancelo reportedly made it clear that he would rather stay at Al-Hilal without playing than give up on his dream of returning to Catalonia. 😱 His contract with the Saudi club was eventually terminated by mutual agreement, allowing him to return to Barcelona as a free agent.
The sacrifice has already started looking worthwhile. 👀🔥
During his previous Barça spell, Cancelo made 23 appearances, scored twice and provided four assists, convincing Hansi Flick that his versatility and attacking quality were worth keeping around.
And after finally securing his permanent return, Cancelo signed with Barça until June 2029. 💙❤️✍️
Even more interestingly, the 32-year-old has already shown why Flick wanted him back. His attacking instincts, ability to play on both flanks and experience at the highest level give Barcelona another dangerous weapon in a squad packed with quality. 🔥⚡
Cancelo didn’t simply choose Barcelona.
He fought for Barcelona. He sacrificed for Barcelona. And now he gets to wear the Blaugrana shirt again. 🥹💙❤️
For a player who reportedly had other financial options available, choosing the Barça dream over the biggest possible payday says a LOT about how strongly he wanted this return. 👑🔵🔴
João Cancelo is home again… and he clearly wasn’t ready to let anyone take that dream away from him. 😍🔥
