Barcelona are preparing to return to La Liga against Getafe on Saturday, and Hansi Flick could be forced into a fascinating selection decision after the international break. The Catalan giants have only had a short period to work with their full squad, with several internationals returning just days before the match.
The biggest talking point is Raphinha. The Brazilian remains a doubt after suffering a minor muscular issue while on international duty, and reports indicate that he has continued working away from the main group. With a packed October schedule ahead, including Champions League clashes with Galatasaray and PSG followed by El Clásico, Flick has every reason to avoid taking unnecessary risks with his captain.
🚨 If Raphinha is rested, Gabriel Jesus could be handed a huge opportunity to lead the line. The Brazilian has already been identified as one of Flick’s preferred alternatives, while Anthony Gordon is another option after his impressive international performances.
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal and Pedri are expected to remain key figures despite their international workload, while Fermín López and Rodri could also feature in Flick’s midfield plans. Joan García has also returned to full training and is reportedly available again, giving Flick another important selection decision in goal.
📋 One projected Barça XI has been listed as:
🧤 Dominik Livaković
🛡️ Eric García – Ronald Araújo – Pau Cubarsí – Gerard Martín
⚙️ Rodri – Pedri – Fermín López
🔥 Anthony Gordon – Gabriel Jesus – Lamine Yamal
The potential inclusion of Gordon, Gabriel Jesus and Yamal would give Barça a very different attacking profile, with pace, direct running and movement potentially causing serious problems for Getafe’s defensive structure.
And there is another twist 👀
Frenkie de Jong is edging closer to a return, while Eric García has also been back involved in team training after his knee discomfort. Flick therefore has more options becoming available just as the schedule begins to intensify.
Barcelona enter the Getafe clash with a perfect league start and will be looking to maintain their momentum after the international break. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 at 18:30 CEST at Spotify Camp Nou.
💥 If Raphinha is rested, would you start Gabriel Jesus through the middle with Yamal and Gordon on the wings? Or should Flick find another solution?
🔵🔴 The lineup could reveal just how seriously Flick is preparing for the brutal October run. 👀🔥
