Barcelona may already have another exciting attacking partnership developing behind the scenes, with Lamine Yamal and Hamza Abdelkarim representing two very different but complementary profiles in the club’s next generation. 🌟
Yamal has already established himself as one of Barça’s biggest stars. The winger is officially part of Hansi Flick’s first-team squad and continues to carry enormous expectations at just 19 years old. His creativity, dribbling, ability to beat defenders and quality in the final third make him one of the central figures in Barcelona’s present and future.
And then there is Hamza Abdelkarim. 🇪🇬🔥
The Egyptian forward arrived at Barça from Al Ahly initially on loan before Barcelona made the move permanent. His rise has been rapid. During his early spell with the club, he impressed with his goalscoring, including a hat-trick in a 9–0 victory, before stepping up to preseason football with Flick’s first team.
Hamza then made an even bigger statement during the 2026/27 preseason, scoring four goals and finishing as Barcelona’s top scorer in the preparations. That form helped earn him his competitive first-team debut against Rayo Vallecano.
Barcelona clearly see something special in him. The club recently agreed a new contract keeping Hamza at Barça until 2030, another major indication that the Catalan giants view the 18-year-old as an important part of their long-term project.
What makes the Yamal–Hamza combination particularly interesting is their potential contrast.
Yamal can operate from the right, drifting inside, creating chances and taking defenders out of position with his one-on-one ability. Hamza, meanwhile, offers the profile of a mobile central forward who wants to attack the box, combine with teammates and finish chances. 🔥
Imagine Yamal receiving the ball wide, attracting two defenders, cutting inside and slipping a pass into the path of Hamza running between the centre-backs. That is exactly the kind of connection Barça supporters will be dreaming about. 👀🔵🔴
One is already a superstar.
The other is knocking on the door.
Yamal and Hamza could become another special chapter in Barcelona’s tradition of developing young attacking talent. 💙❤️🌟
