Today, Liverpool FC Women celebrate a very special member of the Reds family, Niamh Fahey, as she marks another year of life! 🥳🎂❤️
From leading the team on the pitch to helping shape its future behind the scenes, Fahey remains an important figure in Liverpool Women’s history. Her journey is a beautiful example of loyalty, determination, leadership, and what it truly means to wear the famous red shirt! 🔴💪
❤️ FROM CAPTAIN TO CLUB LEADER! 👑
Fahey spent seven years with Liverpool, becoming one of the club’s most respected players. She made 125 appearances for the Reds and captained the team during the final five years of her playing career. Her leadership helped Liverpool win the FA Women’s Championship in the 2021/22 season, securing their return to the Women’s Super League. 🏆🔥
For Fahey, Liverpool was more than just another club. It was the fulfilment of a childhood dream, and she proudly represented the badge until the end of her playing career in 2025. ❤️👏
🌍 AN INCREDIBLE CAREER ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE! 🇮🇪
Fahey also enjoyed an outstanding international career with the Republic of Ireland, earning 115 senior caps over 17 years. One of the biggest highlights was representing her country at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. What an achievement! 🏆🇮🇪👏
Her experience also includes spells with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Bordeaux, where she collected major honours and established herself as a highly respected figure in women’s football. 🌟⚽
🚀 HER LIVERPOOL JOURNEY IS FAR FROM OVER! 🔴❤️
Although Fahey hung up her boots in 2025, she didn’t walk away from the club she loves. Instead, she returned as Liverpool FC Women’s first-ever technical coordinator, taking on an important role in player development, recruitment, strategic planning, and building a stronger pathway from the academy to the first team. 🧠📈🔥
Now, the former captain is helping shape the next generation of Reds stars, using the experience and leadership she gained throughout her remarkable playing career.
A true leader on the pitch, an experienced football mind off it, and a Red whose connection with Liverpool continues to grow! ❤️👑
🎂🥳 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NIAMH FAHEY! May your new year bring you happiness, good health, continued success, and even more unforgettable moments with Liverpool FC Women! ❤️🔴🏆
Once a Red, always a Red! YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE! ❤️🙌
