Manchester United are officially in a full-blown crisis, and the situation at Old Trafford is becoming increasingly difficult to defend. Another match, another defeat, and more questions about Michael Carrick’s future as head coach.
The Red Devils have suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, extending their miserable run without a victory to NINE consecutive games in all competitions!
Just when supporters thought things could not get any worse following the humiliating defeats against Como and Bournemouth, United have found another way to disappoint their fans.
Chelsea took control through Morgan Rogers, who opened the scoring after the break. Things then went from bad to worse when Lisandro Martínez was sent off following a VAR review for an elbow on Wesley Fofana. Chelsea were awarded a penalty, and Cole Palmer calmly converted to make it 2-0.
United tried to fight back, but the damage had already been done. Another defeat, another disappointing performance, and another miserable afternoon for the travelling supporters.
Here is Manchester United’s dreadful run of results:
Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United
Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth
Como 4-1 Manchester United
Manchester United 1-1 Leeds United
Atlético Madrid 2-0 Manchester United
Manchester United 1-1 Tottenham
Manchester United 1-1 Fulham
Manchester United 2-3 Brighton
Manchester United 0-1 Manchester City
The numbers are becoming frightening! Six defeats and three draws in nine consecutive matches without a win. This is simply unacceptable for a football club of Manchester United’s size and ambition.
And now, the biggest question is unavoidable: HOW MUCH LONGER CAN MICHAEL CARRICK SURVIVE?
The board had already given him another opportunity after the Bournemouth disaster, but this Chelsea defeat has only intensified the pressure. Supporters are losing patience, confidence is disappearing, and the team’s performances are raising serious concerns about the direction of the club.
Manchester United are not supposed to be fighting just to avoid defeat. They are supposed to compete for trophies, challenge the biggest clubs and make their supporters proud.
Instead, they are making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Is it time for Manchester United to sack Michael Carrick, or should he be given another chance?
UNITED FANS, HOW MUCH MORE CAN YOU TAKE?
