Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €40 million bid for Stuttgart’s highly rated young defender Finn Jeltsch as Andoni Iraola looks to strengthen his defensive options for the future.
The Reds have already held advanced discussions with the 20-year-old centre-back’s representatives as they explore the possibility of bringing him to Anfield.
However, Liverpool are not alone in the race. Barcelona are also monitoring Jeltsch’s development and remain interested in securing his signature, setting up a potential transfer battle between two European giants. 👀
Liverpool reportedly view the German youngster as a potential long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk, who remains an important figure in their defence.
At just 20 years old, Jeltsch represents an investment in the future. His potential, defensive qualities and room for development make him an attractive option as Liverpool consider their next generation of centre-backs.
The reported €40 million valuation shows how highly the youngster is regarded, but Barcelona’s interest could complicate Liverpool’s plans.
🔴 Liverpool want to secure their defensive future, and Jeltsch could be one of the names at the centre of their rebuilding project.
💬 Liverpool fans, would you spend €40 million on Finn Jeltsch as a potential future replacement for Van Dijk?
