Manchester United have reportedly taken another huge step in their ambitious summer rebuild, with Carlos Baleba becoming the latest major addition to Michael Carrick’s squad. The midfielder’s move from Brighton has been widely reported as a deal worth around £65 million initially, potentially rising to £70 million with add-ons.
Baleba has been one of United’s long-term midfield targets, and his arrival would add power, athleticism, ball-winning ability and energy to a midfield that has already undergone significant changes this summer. 🔥💪
But just when supporters thought the Baleba saga was the headline of the day, Ibrahim Mbaye’s name suddenly entered the conversation. 👀
Manchester United have previously been linked with the highly rated PSG youngster, with reports confirming that the Red Devils had made contact with the French champions about the 18-year-old winger. PSG were believed to be demanding a substantial fee for the teenager, whose reputation has continued to rise.
Mbaye is no ordinary academy prospect either. The Senegal international came through PSG’s youth system and broke into the senior setup at a remarkably young age. He has already accumulated significant first-team experience despite being only 18, making him one of the exciting young attacking talents on the market.
🚨 However, there is a massive twist.
While claims have circulated suggesting Manchester United have reached an agreement with PSG for Mbaye, the latest reports available today point in a very different direction.
Aston Villa are now reported to have reached an agreement with PSG for Mbaye worth around €55 million, approximately £47 million. The move would represent a major blow to clubs that had been pursuing the teenager, with Liverpool also heavily linked with him during the summer.
So, United fans may want to hold the champagne for now. 🍾👀
The Baleba deal is the much stronger part of the current United transfer story, while the Mbaye-to-United claim appears to conflict with the latest reporting.
And there is still another major piece of business United are reportedly chasing…
🎯 A STRIKER!
With the transfer window approaching its final stages, United are expected to continue searching for attacking reinforcements. The club’s summer spending has already attracted enormous attention, but the possibility of adding another forward could make this one of the most dramatic transfer windows at Old Trafford in years. 🔴🔥
Baleba arriving. Young attacking talent being explored. A striker potentially still on the shopping list.
Manchester United are clearly not ready to shut the transfer door yet. 😳🚪
The question now is simple…
