Barcelona are preparing for a huge Champions League night at the Spotify Camp Nou, and the possible lineup for the clash with Feyenoord has already sparked plenty of debate among supporters.

The suggested XI features a fascinating blend of experience, youth and some of Barcelona’s biggest new arrivals. Hansi Flick appears to have several tactical decisions to make, particularly in defence and midfield, as Barça look to begin their European campaign with a statement victory.

Joan García is expected to continue in goal, with the young goalkeeper preparing for another major test in his developing Barcelona career.

The defensive setup is where things become particularly interesting. João Cancelo, Gerard Martín, Pau Cubarsí and Eric García are shown across the back four in the proposed lineup. However, reports ahead of the match suggest Flick could make changes here, with Jules Koundé also strongly tipped to start and Eric García unavailable because of suspension.

In midfield, the image presents a powerful combination of Pedri, Fermín López and Rodri.

Rodri’s presence is perhaps the biggest talking point. The Ballon d’Or winner has recently joined Barcelona and has already shown why Flick sees him as an important piece of the team. His ability to control possession, protect the defence and dictate the tempo could be crucial against Feyenoord.

Pedri remains the creative heartbeat, while Fermín brings energy, aggression and late runs into dangerous areas.

The attacking trio is where Barcelona fans will be licking their lips.

Raphinha is positioned centrally, with Anthony Gordon on the left and Lamine Yamal on the right. It is a front three packed with pace, creativity and goals.

Raphinha has started the season in spectacular form, scoring six goals in Barcelona’s opening four league matches and operating increasingly as a false nine.

Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, enters the Champions League opener full of confidence after scoring twice in Barcelona’s 5-0 demolition of Valencia. The teenager has also made it clear that winning the Champions League is his biggest ambition this season.

Then there is Anthony Gordon.

The English winger has impressed since arriving at Barcelona, offering direct running and another attacking outlet. Flick has publicly praised his contribution and remains confident that the goals will eventually come.

If this attacking combination clicks, Feyenoord could have an extremely difficult night.

Barcelona have already scored 17 goals in their opening four La Liga matches, including a devastating 5-0 victory over Valencia. Flick’s side are playing with confidence, intensity and attacking freedom, and the Champions League provides the perfect stage to demonstrate whether that domestic form can translate to Europe.

The biggest question is whether Flick sticks with the exact XI shown in the graphic or makes adjustments.

Several reports predict a slightly different defensive structure, with Koundé, Cubarsí and Cancelo among the players expected to feature. The midfield of Rodri, Pedri and Fermín and the attacking trio of Gordon, Raphinha and Yamal remain among the most discussed possibilities.

One thing is certain: Barcelona have serious firepower.

With Raphinha’s finishing, Yamal’s unpredictability, Gordon’s explosiveness, Pedri’s creativity, Fermín’s energy and Rodri’s control, Flick has assembled a side capable of causing serious problems for Feyenoord.

And with Barcelona determined to end their long wait for another Champions League triumph, this opening night could be the first major step toward that dream.

The European stage is ready.

Now it is time for Barça to show what they are made of.
