Manchester United’s academy is producing another player who could soon force his way into the first-team conversation — Jaydan Kamason. 👀
The 19-year-old right-back has made a sensational start to the 2026/27 Premier League 2 campaign, scoring twice in his first two appearances and playing the full 90 minutes in both matches. He scored against Ipswich U21 in a 5-0 victory before finding the net again in the 4-1 win over Leicester U21.
His numbers are particularly eye-catching for a defender. Kamason currently has 2 goals from 2 matches, 180 minutes played and a FotMob rating of 8.32.
That attacking contribution is exactly what makes his development interesting.
Kamason is an attacking full-back who has progressed through United’s academy after joining the club’s Emerging Talent Programme. Manchester United describe him as a confident, attacking defender who has continued to rise through the youth ranks.
And there is another connection that makes this even more interesting. Michael Carrick is now responsible for the senior team, while United’s academy continues to develop players who could eventually challenge for first-team opportunities.
Kamason is currently listed among United’s Under-21 defenders for the 2026/27 season, alongside players such as Harry Amass and Ayden Heaven.
The timing is also important.
United’s senior squad already has several options at full-back, meaning Kamason does not need to be rushed. His immediate objective should be continuing to perform consistently, improving defensively and showing that his impressive start is more than just a two-game burst.
But two goals in two matches have certainly put his name on the radar. 🔴🔥
And United fans have every reason to keep an eye on him.
With Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Harry Amass and now Kamason among the young players developing around the first-team setup, United have a group of youngsters who could become increasingly important to the club’s long-term squad planning.
Kamason still has plenty to prove, but his opening performances have sent a clear message:
He wants to be noticed. 👀🔴
The next step is maintaining this level, earning opportunities at a higher level and showing Carrick that another academy player may be ready to knock on the first-team door. 🔥🏟️
