There has been positive progress in Frenkie de Jong’s recovery, with the Barcelona midfielder continuing his rehabilitation from the knee injury that has kept him out of action.

De Jong suffered a tear to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee in July, and Barcelona confirmed that he would undergo conservative treatment rather than surgery.

The latest updates indicate that the Dutchman is steadily moving forward in his recovery and has already been working with the ball. Reports have also suggested that a return to group training could be approaching.

That would be a major boost for Hansi Flick and Barcelona. 💙❤️

De Jong remains an important part of Barça’s midfield, offering composure in possession, progressive passing and the ability to control the tempo of matches. His return would give Flick another experienced option alongside Pedri, Gavi, Fermín López and Marc Bernal.

The midfielder himself has previously made it clear that his priority is to recover properly and return in the best possible condition. Barcelona have also confirmed that he remains their No. 21 for the 2026/27 season.

After watching Barça move forward without him, the wait is finally beginning to feel a little shorter. 👀🔥

FRENKIE IS GETTING CLOSER. 🦁🔵🔴
