Liverpool have been blessed with some seriously special No.10s, but two names continue to spark one huge debate among the supporters: Philippe Coutinho or Florian Wirtz? 👀🪄
🇧🇷 Coutinho — The Little Magician
When Coutinho arrived at Anfield in 2013, few could have predicted just how iconic his Liverpool career would become. Across 201 appearances, the Brazilian magician scored 54 goals, combining outrageous technique, clever movement and those unforgettable long-range rockets. 🚀✨
His time at Liverpool saw him become one of the Premier League’s most dangerous creative players. In the 2016/17 campaign alone, Coutinho produced 14 goals and 9 assists, despite missing several weeks through injury.
That famous right-footed curl from outside the box? The little touches between defenders? The ability to suddenly produce something spectacular?
That was pure Coutinho magic. 🎩🇧🇷
🇩🇪 Wirtz — The New Magician
Fast-forward to the present and Liverpool have another player wearing the No.10-style creative mantle.
Florian Wirtz has already shown flashes of the brilliance that made him one of Europe’s most highly rated young attacking midfielders before his move to Anfield. Liverpool paid an initial £100 million, with add-ons taking the potential package to around £116.5 million, underlining the enormous expectations surrounding him.
And the numbers are beginning to tell their own story. Wirtz has reached 55 Liverpool appearances with 7 goals and 9 assists, while his influence goes beyond simply putting the ball in the net. His vision, movement between the lines and ability to create opportunities make him a completely different type of attacking weapon.
🔥 And there have already been moments that show exactly why Liverpool invested so heavily in him. During January 2026, Wirtz produced five goals and two assists in nine appearances, earning the club’s Player of the Month award.
Different generation.
Different playing style.
Different era.
But the same Liverpool love affair with a magical No.10. 🪄❤️
Coutinho gave Anfield spectacular goals and unforgettable moments.
Wirtz is now trying to build his own legacy with creativity, intelligence and that same ability to make supporters jump out of their seats. 🔥🏟️
So here comes the ultimate Liverpool dilemma…
🇧🇷 PHILIPPE COUTINHO
or
🇩🇪 FLORIAN WIRTZ
👀 If you could keep ONLY ONE at Liverpool, who are you choosing? 🔴👇
