Rodri is not just a midfield general who dictates the tempo of a game. He is also a player who knows exactly when to strike, and Aston Villa have felt the full force of his quality! 😳⚽
The Manchester City star has reportedly scored 5 goals in 9 appearances against Villa, an extraordinary record for a midfielder whose primary responsibility is controlling the game and protecting the defence. 🔵💥
From his incredible positional awareness to his composure under pressure, Rodri possesses the perfect combination of intelligence, technique and timing. And when he steps into the opposition’s penalty area, defenders know they cannot afford to switch off for even a second! 👀
And the numbers get even JUICIER! 😮🔥
Rodri has won 8 of those 9 encounters, drawn once and never suffered a defeat against Villa. He has also contributed 2 assists, proving that his influence goes far beyond simply putting the ball into the net. 📊
Three of his five goals came from headers, including a crucial strike in Manchester City’s 2-1 League Cup final victory over Aston Villa in 2020. 🏆
Now, Rodri has another opportunity to extend his remarkable record as Barcelona prepare to face Aston Villa in the Champions League. With his ability to dominate midfield and deliver in decisive moments, Villa will have to be extremely careful. 👀
Can Rodri punish Aston Villa once again, or will the English side finally find a way to silence him? 🔥
