Manchester United are finally getting their man! 🔴👀 Carlos Baleba is on his way to Manchester as the Red Devils close in on a major midfield statement that could completely transform Michael Carrick’s engine room.
The agreement with Brighton is understood to be worth £65 million guaranteed, with another £5 million available in add-ons, taking the potential package to £70 million. Brighton have also secured a sell-on clause as part of the agreement. 💰🤝
✈️ BALeba is heading to Manchester
The Cameroon international is expected in Manchester as United prepare for the next crucial stages of the transfer. The medical will be one of the biggest checkpoints before everything is officially completed, with reports indicating that the final paperwork and contract signing will follow. 🏥📝
There is also a small fitness subplot to keep an eye on. Baleba recently suffered an ankle ligament injury during pre-season, although reports indicate that it is not expected to keep him out for an extended period. 👀🩹
🔥 UNITED HAVE BEEN CHASING BALEBA FOR A WHILE
This isn’t some random deadline-day panic buy.
Manchester United previously explored a move for Baleba when Brighton were demanding a fee around the £115 million mark. This time, United have managed to get the deal done for a significantly lower guaranteed figure, representing a potential saving of around £50 million compared with the valuation that previously scared them away. 💸😮
At just 22, Baleba already has extensive Premier League experience. He joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 and has developed into one of the most exciting young midfielders in the division. He has made more than 90 Premier League appearances and has established himself as an important presence in Brighton’s midfield. 🇨🇲💪
⚙️ THE MIDFIELD REBUILD IS GETTING SERIOUS
Baleba’s arrival would represent another huge piece of United’s midfield rebuild.
Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have already arrived this summer, while Baleba is now set to become another major addition to the engine room. The idea is clear: United want a stronger, more athletic and more competitive midfield capable of controlling games rather than constantly chasing them. 🔴🔥
And Baleba brings exactly the kind of physical presence United have been crying out for.
His ability to win possession, carry the ball through midfield and cover ground could give the team a completely different dimension. Instead of relying heavily on Bruno Fernandes to make things happen, United could finally have a midfield capable of doing the dirty work and giving their attacking players more freedom. 🧱⚡
🚨 £70M FOR BALEBA… PRESSURE IS NOW ON!
There is no hiding from it: a potential £70 million investment comes with serious expectations.
United supporters won’t simply want impressive tackles and powerful runs. They will want consistency, maturity and performances that justify the enormous price tag. 👀💰
But if Baleba settles quickly, this could become one of the most important moves of United’s rebuild.
The Red Devils aren’t just buying another midfielder. They are betting on a 22-year-old who could become the heartbeat of their midfield for years to come. ❤️🔥
