Barcelona fans finally have a reason to get seriously excited! 🔵🔴🔥 Rodri has taken another major step toward his Barça debut after joining his new teammates for full group training.
The blockbuster summer signing had been working separately as he built up his fitness, but his return to collective training has dramatically changed the picture. Reports indicate that the coaching staff are now considering giving the Spanish midfield maestro his first minutes against Athletic Club.
And if everything goes according to plan, Barça supporters could soon witness one of the most anticipated debuts of the new season. 👀🔥
Rodri’s arrival in Catalonia was already one of the biggest stories of the summer. Barcelona completed his high-profile move from Manchester City after agreeing a reported £65.4 million deal, with the midfielder signing a contract running until 2030.
This isn’t just another transfer.
Rodri arrives at Barça with a résumé that speaks for itself. During seven seasons at Manchester City, he made 298 appearances and helped the club collect 14 major trophies, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League. He also won the 2024 Ballon d’Or and captained Spain to major international success.
So when Hansi Flick finally gets him onto the pitch, expectations will be enormous. 😮💨⚽
Flick has already made it clear just how highly he rates his new midfielder, describing Rodri as potentially the best No. 6 in the world. His ability to dictate the tempo, protect the defence, win duels and control possession could give Barcelona an entirely different dimension in midfield.
Now the waiting game is almost over. ⏳
Rodri missed Barça’s opening league fixture against Elche because he had not yet joined full team training. But his latest session represents a significant boost, with the midfielder working alongside teammates who had limited involvement in the previous match.
And that makes Thursday’s Athletic Club showdown particularly intriguing. 👀🔥
Imagine Rodri stepping onto the pitch in Barcelona colours for the first time.
Imagine Pedri operating alongside him.
Imagine Barça controlling possession with Rodri sitting at the base of the midfield.
Imagine the Spanish midfield boss dictating the rhythm while Flick’s attacking stars go hunting for goals. 🤯🔵🔴
That is exactly why excitement around his debut is exploding.
Barcelona didn’t sign Rodri merely for his name. They signed him because he can potentially become the heartbeat of this team and provide the experience, intelligence and authority needed to compete at the highest level.
For a club looking to dominate Spain and make another serious push in Europe, having a player of Rodri’s quality controlling the middle of the pitch could be a game-changer. 💥
The Athletic Club match could therefore be more than just another fixture.
It could be the beginning of the Rodri era at Barcelona. 👑🔵🔴
The stage is being prepared.
The midfielder is back in group training.
Flick is watching closely.
And Barça fans are counting down.
Rodri’s Barcelona debut is getting VERY close. 🚨🔥🔵🔴
