Marcus Rashford’s return to the Manchester United starting XI was one of the biggest talking points from the 5-2 demolition of Ipswich Town at Old Trafford. After more than 18 months without starting a Premier League match for United, the 28-year-old forward finally got another chance to remind everyone what he can bring.
And honestly… there were plenty of reasons to be impressed. 👀🔥
Rashford didn’t score, but his performance was far from quiet. He looked direct, confident and hungry, constantly looking to attack his defender and stretch the Ipswich backline. His movement created problems and gave United another dangerous outlet on the left.
One of his biggest moments came when he produced a superb first-time cross that almost resulted in a goal for Bryan Mbeumo. The delivery was practically begging to be finished, only for Mbeumo to hit the crossbar from close range. 😱🎯
Then came another reminder of Rashford’s shooting ability. He unleashed a powerful volley that looked destined for the net, only for Ipswich goalkeeper Joel Scherpen to produce an excellent save. 💥🧤
But perhaps the moment that pleased United supporters most wasn’t even an attacking one…
Rashford tracked back late in the game, won the ball and received a huge roar from the Old Trafford crowd. That kind of commitment is exactly what fans have wanted to see from him. ❤️🔥👏
Michael Carrick has already spoken positively about Rashford’s return, with the forward now looking like a player who could genuinely become an important part of United’s plans again.
Of course, Bruno Fernandes stole the headlines with a sensational hat-trick as United came from behind to beat Ipswich 5-2. 🔥🎩 But Rashford’s display quietly offered another major storyline: the possibility of a Rashford resurgence at Old Trafford.
This wasn’t the perfect comeback. No goal. No assist. But the energy, movement, crossing, confidence and willingness to work were all there. And if this is only the beginning… 👀
Manchester United fans might have a very interesting Marcus Rashford story to watch this season. 🔴🔥
