At just 19 years old, the Barcelona superstar has already established himself among the biggest names in world football. His remarkable 2025/26 campaign helped Barcelona lift major domestic honours, while he also played a role in Spain’s World Cup triumph. Now, he has been officially included among the 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. 🌟🇪🇸
And the competition is absolutely brutal. 😳
Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Jude Bellingham, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé and several other superstars are also in the running. Yet Yamal’s name continues to dominate the conversation because of just how extraordinary his rise has been.
The Barcelona wonderkid finished the campaign with 41 goal contributions in 45 appearances, an incredible return for a player who had only just turned 19. His performances helped establish him as one of the most dangerous attackers in European football.
But Yamal isn’t begging for the award.
Far from it. 😮💨
When asked about his Ballon d’Or chances, the young star made his position perfectly clear: he believes he has a strong chance because of what he achieved with Barcelona and Spain, but he isn’t going to campaign or plead with journalists to vote for him.
His attitude has been simple: let the football speak. 🗣️⚽
That confidence has also been matched by his manager.
Hansi Flick has publicly backed his young superstar, saying there is nobody quite like Yamal and that he deserves the Ballon d’Or. After Yamal’s outstanding performance in Barcelona’s Champions League victory over Feyenoord, Flick’s praise only intensified. 🔥🏆
And then came another huge moment.
Yamal has now been trusted with a leadership role at Barcelona, becoming one of the club’s captains despite being only 19. That is an extraordinary show of faith from his teammates and another indication of how quickly his status at Camp Nou has grown.
The Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on 26 October 2026 in London, where the football world will discover who takes home the biggest individual prize in the game.
Could that player be Lamine Yamal? 👀🏆
The image of Yamal alongside the iconic Ballon d’Or trophy may be a fan-made representation, but the dream itself is very real. He has the statistics, the trophies, the performances and the global spotlight.
Now it comes down to the voters.
One thing is already certain: Lamine Yamal isn’t chasing the Ballon d’Or anymore — the Ballon d’Or race is chasing him. 😮💨👑🔵🔴🔥
