The Carabao Cup is about to serve up one of the biggest third round showdowns of the competition as Liverpool welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Anfield! 😮💨🔥
The EFL confirmed the tie as one of the standout fixtures of the third round, with Anfield set to host a mouthwatering battle between two Premier League giants.

🏆 Carabao Cup – Third Round
⏰ 8:00 PM BST
And there is already plenty of spice surrounding this one! 👀🔥 Liverpool come into the cup clash after being held to a frustrating 0–0 draw by Fulham at Anfield, leaving Andoni Iraola’s side desperate for a response. The Reds will be looking to turn that disappointment into motivation when Spurs arrive.
Tottenham, meanwhile, will be heading to Merseyside knowing exactly how dangerous Liverpool can be under the Anfield lights. 😤🔴 The visitors will have to withstand the atmosphere, the pressure and a Liverpool side determined to make a deep run in the competition.
There is also recent Carabao Cup history between these clubs. Liverpool famously destroyed Spurs 4–0 at Anfield in February 2025, overturning a first-leg deficit to reach the final. 😳🔥
Now, more than a year later, the two sides meet again with another knockout battle on the line. One mistake could end a cup dream. One moment of brilliance could send a team into the next round. 🏆⚡
And with Liverpool’s busy European schedule already putting pressure on the fixture calendar, the match was moved forward to September 15 because of scheduling clashes. Liverpool confirmed that the kickoff remains 8pm BST.
