Manchester United’s Carabao Cup campaign is officially over after Brighton came from two goals down to beat them 3–2 at Old Trafford in a stunning third-round comeback. 😱💔
United looked completely in control early on, racing into a 2–0 lead and giving supporters plenty of reason to believe they were heading comfortably into the next round.
But everything changed after the break. 🔥
Brighton refused to give up, producing a remarkable comeback that completely turned the match on its head. Three goals from the visitors eventually completed one of the most painful reversals United have suffered at Old Trafford.
😳 2–0 UP… 3–2 DOWN!
The defeat means United are now eliminated from the Carabao Cup in the third round, ending another route to silverware before the competition had even reached its later stages.
For Michael Carrick, the result will raise even more questions after United surrendered a two-goal advantage on home soil.
