Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó, but the midfielder’s situation has already changed significantly this summer. 👀🔴
Casadó, 22, was once viewed as an important part of Barcelona’s midfield after breaking into the first team under Hansi Flick. However, increased competition from Pedri, Gavi, Marc Bernal, Frenkie de Jong and Eric García left his opportunities increasingly limited. Reports in Spain indicated that Barça were open to offers, with the club valuing him at around €40 million earlier in the summer.
That made Casadó an attractive name for several Premier League clubs. Reports linked multiple English sides with the midfielder, while his agent Jorge Mendes explored different possibilities.
Liverpool’s interest, however, should be treated carefully. There is no confirmed agreement between Liverpool and Barcelona for Casadó, and the latest official development is that the midfielder joined Deportivo La Coruña on loan until June 2027, with Deportivo announcing an option to buy.
Before that move, Casadó had already made 75 appearances for Barcelona, recording one goal and seven assists while winning two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
His departure is therefore less about a lack of experience and more about finding the regular football that became difficult to guarantee at Camp Nou. 🔥
For Liverpool, the attraction is understandable: Casadó is a defensively minded midfielder who can also operate at right-back, offering tactical flexibility and intensity in the middle of the pitch.
But for now, the Catalan midfielder is focused on his new chapter in Galicia rather than an immediate move to Anfield. 👀🔴
The Liverpool link may keep circulating, but Casadó’s next big test will be proving himself again at Deportivo before deciding what comes next. 💪⚽️
From Barça’s midfield to a fresh challenge in Spain… Marc Casadó’s story is far from over. 🔥🔴
