Liverpool’s search for the next Mohamed Salah has already brought Michael Olise into the conversation, and the Bayern Munich superstar remains one of the biggest names linked with the Reds. 👀🔥
Olise has developed into one of Europe’s most productive attacking players since leaving Crystal Palace for Bayern Munich in 2024. His 2025/26 campaign was particularly spectacular, with Bundesliga reporting that he finished the season with 15 league goals and a league-leading 19 assists, before also breaking Pelé’s World Cup assist record with France. 🇫🇷⚡
That explains why Liverpool have repeatedly been connected with him.
The Reds reportedly made enquiries about Olise while looking for a long-term successor to Salah. TEAMtalk previously reported that Liverpool viewed the French winger as their “dream” replacement for the Egyptian, while other reports have also linked Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain with the 24-year-old.
But there is one enormous problem… Bayern don’t want to let him go. 😳
Bayern chief Jan-Christian Dreesen stated in July that there were no plans for Olise to leave, while the club also pointed out that he still has a contract running until 2029.
Liverpool have since strengthened their attack with Bradley Barcola, but the Reds still don’t have a direct natural replacement for everything Salah provided from the right wing. Barcola, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha are more naturally associated with the left side, leaving the right flank as an area Liverpool could still look to address.
And Olise’s numbers explain the attraction. His combination of creativity, ball progression, goals and assists makes him the type of player who could potentially transform Liverpool’s right side. 🔥
The latest reports suggest Bayern could eventually face a decision over Olise’s future, with a potential release clause being discussed for a future contract. However, any eventual deal would reportedly require an enormous financial commitment.
So while Olise-to-Liverpool is not a done deal, the connection isn’t disappearing.
Salah has left. Liverpool have started building a new attacking era.
And somewhere on that wishlist, Michael Olise’s name keeps coming back. 👀🔴🔥
