Anthony Gordon has taken his game to another level, and his start to life at Barcelona is beginning to look seriously impressive. 🔵🔴🔥
The English winger arrived at Barcelona with plenty of expectations, but instead of taking time to settle, Gordon has quickly shown that he can offer much more than just pace and direct running.
His five assists in his first seven Barcelona appearances underline the creative impact he has already made. Gordon has been increasingly involved in Barcelona’s attacking play, combining his explosive acceleration with better movement, decision-making and final-ball quality.
But it is with England where Gordon’s recent form has become impossible to ignore. 👀🏴
After scoring against Spain, Gordon continued his incredible international run by finding the net again against Czechia, before scoring once more in England’s huge 7-0 victory over Croatia. England’s official statistics show that he became the only player alongside Harry Kane to be directly involved in a goal in five consecutive England appearances, producing four goals and two assists across that run.
🔥 FOUR CONSECUTIVE ENGLAND APPEARANCES. FOUR GOALS. TWO ASSISTS.
That is serious form.
Against Croatia, Gordon was once again dangerous as England produced one of their most dominant performances under Thomas Tuchel. He scored in the seven-goal demolition, continuing a remarkable sequence that has transformed his status within the national team.
And there is something particularly interesting about Gordon’s development.
For years, his game was largely associated with speed, pressing and aggressive running. Now, at Barcelona, he is showing another side of himself. His positioning has improved, his creativity has become more noticeable and his confidence in the final third has grown significantly.
Playing alongside elite attackers at Barcelona appears to be bringing another dimension to his football. With players such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha around him, Gordon has the opportunity to learn, combine and attack spaces in different ways.
🇬🇧 ENGLAND HAVE A SERIOUS WEAPON ON THEIR HANDS.
At just 25, Gordon is entering a period where his experience, confidence and physical qualities are beginning to come together.
The frightening part?
He may still have another level to reach. 😳🔥
Barcelona wanted more than just a fast winger.
They may have found an attacker capable of becoming a genuine difference-maker.
Anthony Gordon isn’t just running anymore. He’s creating. He’s scoring. He’s deciding games.
And right now, he is absolutely ON FIRE. 🔥🔥
