Enzo Maresca Confirms Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi Have No Future at Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has made it clear that Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi are not part of his long-term plans after both players failed to secure moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

“They are Chelsea players and have contracts with the club, but at this moment they are still training apart. Since the start of the season, I haven’t seen them,” Maresca said when asked about their status.

Pressed further on whether the pair could be reintegrated into the squad at any stage, the Italian gave a blunt response: “No.”

Sterling, 30, still has two years remaining on the deal he signed when joining from Manchester City in 2022. Disasi, who arrived from Monaco in 2023, is under contract until 2029.

The decision effectively leaves both players frozen out until they find new clubs, with Chelsea continuing their policy of trimming down the squad under Maresca’s leadership.
