Mikel Arteta has delivered a special assessment of Declan Rice, revealing just how desperate the England international is to keep improving and take his game to another level at Arsenal.
According to the Arsenal manager, Rice is not satisfied with what he has already achieved. Despite being one of the team’s most influential players, the midfielder constantly looks for ways to become more dangerous, unpredictable and complete.
Arteta explained that Arsenal have been working specifically on adding more attacking dimensions to Rice’s game, ensuring that he can contribute even more in different areas of the pitch.
Speaking about his development, Arteta said:
“He’s desperate to improve every part of his game, and we need to do that while we maintain so many incredible things that he’s already done, but he’s on the right trajectory.”
The Spaniard also highlighted Rice’s extraordinary versatility, pointing out that he can defend, win duels, carry the ball forward, progress play, deliver crosses, create opportunities and contribute from set pieces.
But there is one particular area Arteta wants to see Rice utilise even more: his long-range shooting ability! 🚀
The Arsenal boss believes the midfielder has the quality to become an even bigger attacking threat and wants him to take advantage of that weapon more frequently.
Arteta added that Rice can still offer so much more, insisting that the club must not restrict his qualities or underestimate his potential.
💯 This is what separates elite players from ordinary ones. Declan Rice already has an incredible influence on Arsenal, but his hunger to improve even further tells you everything about his mentality.
At Arsenal, the mission is not simply to maintain his current level. It is to unlock an even better version of Declan Rice!
❤️ Gunners, imagine what Rice could become if he adds consistent long-range goals and even more attacking contributions to his already outstanding midfield performances!
