Barcelona are exploring the possibility of bringing Pedro Porro back to Spanish football, but Tottenham Hotspur have made their position crystal clear: Anyone who wants their star right-back must be prepared to pay BIG MONEY! 💰😳
The 27-year-old Spanish international has reportedly become one of the names on Deco’s transfer shortlist as Barcelona look to strengthen their right-back position ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
According to reports, Tottenham value Porro at approximately €70–80 million, a figure Barcelona consider excessive given their current financial priorities. Some earlier reports have even suggested that Spurs could demand as much as €88.6 million! 🤯
But why is Barcelona so interested in him?
Porro has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attacking full-backs. His explosive pace, exceptional crossing, creativity and ability to contribute goals and assists make him an attractive option for Hansi Flick’s attacking system.
Even more interestingly, Porro already has an understanding with Lamine Yamal from their time playing together for Spain. Imagine the two combining on Barcelona’s right flank! 🔥🇪🇸
However, Tottenham are in a strong negotiating position. Porro recently signed a new contract extending his stay until 2031, meaning the London club have little reason to sell him cheaply.
Reports also indicate that Barcelona have already made contact with the player’s representatives. Deco and the sporting department reportedly admire his profile, but they want Porro’s camp to help convince Tottenham to lower their financial demands.
A January move is considered difficult, with next summer potentially offering a more realistic opportunity.
There is also another important consideration: Barcelona must strengthen their central defence, meaning spending such a massive amount on a right-back could force the club to sacrifice other transfer priorities.
One thing is certain: Porro could be an exciting addition to Flick’s squad, but Barcelona must be careful not to overpay!
