While it’s uncertain whether Liverpool will pursue him, Carragher questions why Arsenal is frequently linked with Isak. He pointed out that while Arsenal is reportedly interested, Liverpool also needs a striker, and yet there has been no talk of them targeting Isak.
Carragher emphasized, “If Isak were to leave, and Liverpool wins the league, why wouldn’t he choose the team that won the league?” He also doubts Arsenal’s ability to afford Isak, given his £130m price tag.
Liverpool’s current attacking options include Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota, though neither has proven to be a consistent goal scorer. Luis Díaz has also played centrally but is not a natural number nine. Carragher believes Isak, surrounded by playmakers like Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, could thrive in Liverpool’s setup.
Newcastle would likely demand a significant fee if they were to sell their star player, so it remains to be seen if a move will happen.
