FC Barcelona have officially entered a new leadership era, and the captaincy group for the 2026/27 season comes with plenty of experience, personality and one huge headline! 💙❤️👑
With Marc-André ter Stegen and Ronald Araújo no longer part of the leadership picture, the Blaugrana needed a fresh hierarchy. Hansi Flick has now settled the matter, naming Raphinha as first captain and Pedri as second captain, while Eric García, Frenkie de Jong and Lamine Yamal complete the five-man group.
🔥 1️⃣ Raphinha — First Captain
The Brazilian now gets the biggest responsibility of all. Raphinha has grown into one of the most influential personalities in the dressing room, and Flick clearly values his presence, consistency and ability to lead from the pitch.
The captain’s armband is no longer just about seniority. It is about influence, responsibility and being willing to step up when Barça need a voice. Raphinha now carries that responsibility. 💪🇧🇷
✨ 2️⃣ Pedri — Second Captain
Quiet but incredibly influential, Pedri represents the Barça identity in a different way. His technical quality, intelligence and connection with the team have made him one of the club’s most important figures.
Flick personally selected Pedri alongside Raphinha, highlighting the midfielder’s importance to the team. 🧠🎩
🛡️ 3️⃣ Eric García — Third Captain
Eric García’s inclusion adds another layer of defensive leadership to the group. His tactical understanding and experience within the squad make him an important figure as Barça look to maintain stability during a new chapter.
🇳🇱 4️⃣ Frenkie de Jong — Fourth Captain
Perhaps one of the biggest talking points is Frenkie’s position. Despite his long-standing status within the dressing room, the Dutch midfielder now sits fourth in the hierarchy.
Still, make no mistake: Frenkie remains a hugely experienced figure and an important voice within the squad. 💙❤️
🌟 5️⃣ Lamine Yamal — Fifth Captain
And then comes the headline-maker! 😱🔥
At just 19 years old, Lamine Yamal has been entrusted with a place among Barcelona’s captains. His inclusion says everything about how rapidly his status has exploded at the club.
From La Masia wonderkid to global superstar… and now part of Barça’s official leadership group. The story is moving FAST! 🚀👑
The five captains for 2026/27 are therefore:
🥇 Raphinha
🥈 Pedri
🥉 Eric García
4️⃣ Frenkie de Jong
5️⃣ Lamine Yamal
This is more than a change of names. It is a changing of the guard at Camp Nou. 🔵🔴
Different personalities. Different generations. One badge.
The new Barça leadership has arrived… and Lamine Yamal wearing the captain’s armband someday feels closer than ever. 👀👑🔥
FORÇA BARÇA! 💙❤️ Visca el Barça! 🔥🔵🔴
