Barcelona could be preparing for a major change at left-back, with Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso reportedly emerging as a potential replacement for Alejandro Balde.
According to reports from Esport3, the Catalan giants are considering the Italian international if Balde eventually leaves the club during the January transfer window.
Interestingly, Barcelona could even explore a deal involving both clubs, with Balde potentially being included in negotiations with Juventus. Such an arrangement would represent a significant development, considering Balde’s importance to Barcelona over recent seasons.
Cambiaso is an attractive option because of his versatility. The 26-year-old can operate on either flank, offering attacking quality, technical ability, tactical intelligence and the flexibility to adapt to different positions.
His ability to play as both a traditional full-back and a more advanced wing-back could make him an interesting addition to Hansi Flick’s system.
However, losing Balde would be a major decision for Barcelona. The Spanish international possesses tremendous pace, attacking ability and familiarity with the club’s playing philosophy.
For now, these reports remain subject to further confirmation, and there is no guarantee that negotiations will develop into an official transfer.
👀 Could Andrea Cambiaso be the perfect replacement for Alejandro Balde, or would Barcelona be making a mistake by allowing their young left-back to leave?
