Am I the only Manchester United supporter who gets genuinely frustrated whenever pictures and videos of our players training at Carrington pop up on social media?
Every single time these players appear in training videos, they look happy, energetic and full of confidence. They are smiling, laughing, playing around, exchanging passes and showing off their footballing abilities. Everything looks beautiful, and you would almost believe that a team preparing to conquer Europe is being built behind closed doors. 😂
But then comes matchday, and suddenly everything changes!
The same players who look like world-beaters during training struggle to produce basic football on the pitch. The passing becomes poor, the movement disappears, the intensity drops, and the team looks completely disconnected.
And you are left wondering: WHAT EXACTLY ARE THESE PLAYERS PRACTISING EVERY DAY AT CARRINGTON? 🤦♂️
Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with players enjoying themselves during training. A positive atmosphere, team bonding and laughter are important in football. Nobody expects players to look miserable every time they step onto the training pitch.
However, happiness in training must translate into hunger, discipline and quality during competitive matches.
What makes the situation even more frustrating is how much attention seems to be placed on the commercial and entertainment side of Manchester United. Training videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes content and social media activities are everywhere.
Sometimes, watching everything unfold, you begin to wonder whether the club is more interested in creating beautiful content than building a team capable of consistently winning football matches.
It almost reminds you of Nigerian content creators who stage arguments, fake relationships, breakups, fights and reconciliations just to keep their audiences entertained. Everything becomes about engagement and visibility! 😂
Meanwhile, supporters are desperate for something much more important: RESULTS!
Interestingly, Manchester United invested around £50 million in redeveloping the Carrington first-team training facilities in 2025, with the intention of creating a world-class performance environment. But even the finest facilities mean very little if the performances on the pitch don’t reflect the ambition behind that investment.
And the recent struggles have only made supporters more frustrated. United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on October 25, followed by the club’s difficult run of results, has intensified questions about the manager, the players and the entire football structure.
Gary Neville has also publicly questioned the professionalism and commitment of certain players, arguing that representing Manchester United requires much more than simply turning up for training and matches.
At this point, the questions are becoming unavoidable:
🔴 Where is the fighting spirit?
🔴 Where is the hunger to win?
🔴 Where is the tactical discipline?
🔴 Where is the accountability when players consistently underperform?
🔴 Why should supporters continue celebrating training videos when matchday performances keep disappointing them?
Manchester United is one of the biggest football institutions in the world. Our ambition should never be limited to producing entertaining videos, selling shirts and generating social media engagement.
We want Premier League titles. We want Champions League nights. We want FA Cups, European trophies and a team that scares opponents before the referee even blows the whistle.
We want players who understand the privilege of wearing that badge.
ENOUGH OF THE ENTERTAINMENT. WE WANT A FOOTBALL TEAM THAT CAN DELIVER!
When exactly will Manchester United return to being a serious title-contending club? 🏆🔴
