Manchester United are intensifying their interest in Como’s highly rated centre-back Jacobo Ramón as the Red Devils begin planning a major defensive rebuild ahead of the 2027 transfer windows.
According to TEAMtalk, United have increased their scouting efforts following the Spaniard’s impressive performances in Italy. The 21-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young defenders in Serie A, attracting attention from some of England’s biggest clubs. 👀
Interestingly, Ramón is already familiar with Manchester United. He scored against the Red Devils during Como’s stunning 4-1 Champions League victory, a performance that reportedly strengthened United’s admiration for him. Talk about making an impression! 😭🔥
UNITED FACE SERIOUS PREMIER LEAGUE COMPETITION!
Manchester United are not alone in this transfer battle. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Fulham are also monitoring the young defender’s progress.
Ramón’s market value has reportedly climbed towards €50 million after his impressive development under Como manager Cesc Fàbregas. His physical presence, excellent passing ability, composure under pressure and attacking contributions make him an attractive option for clubs looking to build their defence around a young centre-back. 🇪🇸💎
United’s defensive situation could make this move particularly interesting, especially with uncertainty surrounding Lisandro Martínez’s long-term future at Old Trafford.
REAL MADRID HOLD THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGE! 😳⚪
However, there is one major obstacle standing between Manchester United and Ramón: Real Madrid.
Los Blancos sold their academy graduate to Como in 2025 for approximately €2.5 million but retained a 50% sell-on clause and buy-back options.
Recent reports suggest Madrid could bring him back for approximately €9 million next summer, potentially putting them in an incredibly strong position ahead of the Premier League clubs. Exclusive +2
The Spanish giants are keeping a close eye on his development and could view him as part of their defensive plans for the future.
Ramón is currently contracted to Como until 2030, and his immediate priority is reportedly continuing his impressive progress in Italy.
THE BIG QUESTION FOR UNITED! 🔴
Manchester United need to make smart recruitment decisions if they want to build a defence capable of competing for major trophies again.
Ramón has the potential, age profile and technical qualities to become an excellent long-term investment. But with Real Madrid holding crucial contractual advantages, signing him will be anything but straightforward.
Could United pull off another major transfer coup, or will Real Madrid take their former academy star back to the Bernabéu? 👀
